Brush me away!
So I'm still deciding whether to buy a set of makeup brushes or not, but I can't decide what to get. With that thinking, I tried searching for what type of brush hair is the best in town and I came across this blog site.
The blogger discussed and explained the brush hairs, the finish it creates and what happens to the brushes after using it for quite some time.
Before, I used to favor synthetic brushes over natural hair brushes but after reading that article, I think I might go for natural brushed now.
The only question is what type of natural brushes? There's Goat hair, Pony, Squirrel and Sable brushes. So, why don't I go over on each of them.
Goat hair is mostly used for brushes. It distributes powder evenly. This is the most recommended brush for powder because it creates a smooth finish. This type of brush hair is also ideal for buffing and blending.
Pony hair is somewhat like Goat hair. This brush hair is fine and soft. It's really good for contouring, blending and for the cheeks.
Now, with Squirrel hair is most commonly used for makeup brushes. This is is ideally conical in shape. It's pointed on the tip and thicker in the middle. Squirrel hair is the softest natural hair among makeup brushes. Down side though is that it is quite expensive but it's really a great buy. Most commonly used for eye shadows and heavy colors.
The one that lasts a lifetime is Sable hair brushes. This type of brush hair usually comes in fine pointed tips and thick middles, just like Squirrel hair. This hair came from Mink in China and there are three types: one is Kolinsky, which has the best quality, Red Sable and Sable. These babies are good for shadowing. It is also very versatile because it can be used either with wet or dry products.
And so that leaves me.... still undecided! Teehee!
But anyhow, I think I'm still gonna be good with Synthetic brushes or even Goat brushes.
XOXO,
Seruh
