How Did You Fail Her?
What she wants you to make her feel...
She'd been alone for too long. She longed for someone's comfort. She wanted to be loved. She wanted to feel that she's worthy and that she's important. She believed in fairytales and she wanted to feel like she's your princess. She wanted to feel secured and protected. She wanted to know the feeling of receiving flowers from you. She longed to feel how it is to be kissed with so much passion and love. How you would swoon her off her feet. How you would ask forgiveness. How you would take her hand and never let go.
She was expecting you to be...
She needs you to be her knight-in-shining-armor. Someone she could go to, when she falls apart. How you would hold her while she cries. She wanted you to pick her side when she picks up a fight with someone else. How you would reassure her that she's the only one. How you would hold on to your promises. She was expecting you to fill the emptiness she had been enduring for the rest of her life, before you came. How small kisses all over her face would make her feel better after a petty fight with you. She was expecting you to be you, who would care for her.
You failed her...
You failed her when you forgot to send her messages on those days that you weren't together. You failed her when you didn't write back to her hand-written letters. You failed her when you didn't make her feel proud when she gave a portrait of you, which she drew for hours. You failed when you didn't serenade her with songs that would knock her off her feet. It was because you let her built and fix the broken relationship all on her own. Because you let it slip. Because you didn't care. Because you forgot how much she loved you and how she created her world around you.
You lost...
You lost the battle when you let her tears fall. You lost when you let her heal her wounds and moved on.
And all that because you forgot how important it is to take care of a woman...
